On a 49-square grid arranged in a spiral, every turn begins with a flipped card that puts one square up for bidding. Players take turns raising the stakes until only one remains: the winner pays their bid to the bank and places a chip of their color on the coveted square. The Game of 49 runs on bluff and fast math: do you push the bid to block a rival, or save your cash for the next square? Special cards shake up the pace by offering a free choice of square and paying out cash to every player based on the chips they already have on the board. It is a true party game that turns a simple grid into a psychological battlefield, where strategy matters just as much as your wallet.
