Table Battles brings you straight to the battlefield in just 20 minutes: two commanders face off to recreate some of history's most decisive clashes, from the Wars of the Roses to the American Revolutionary War. Each player rolls dice and assigns them to Formation cards, watching for the right moment to launch an attack, counter an enemy charge, or absorb losses through a strategic reserve. In most cases, an opponent who can react must react, which keeps them from using those same dice to launch their own offensive. The result is a tense historical wargame built on feints and counter-feints, where a single move can tip the whole battle.

Table Battles is for you if you enjoy wargames but want a quick format to fill the gap between longer sessions, or if you want to try historical simulation without committing to a dense hex-and-counter game. If you like bluffing, probability math, and decisions made under pressure, you're in for a treat: every roll of the dice can make or break your battle plan.

The game was even nominated for the Golden Geek Best Wargame award in 2017, a nod that shows just how well its condensed formula won over a community known for being tough to please when it comes to historical simulations.

Table Battles was designed by Amabel Holland, who built a system where strategy and risk management matter more than rules overhead: a single battle plays out in about twenty minutes without sacrificing tactical depth.
