A shipwreck, an island lost in the middle of nowhere, and a small crew of survivors with nothing but their wits to make it through: that is the adventure waiting in Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island, a cooperative survival game created by Ignacy Trzewiczek. From the very first turns, the team has to build a shelter, find food, craft tools and fend off wild beasts, all while dealing with unpredictable weather that shows no mercy. Every session unfolds as a different scenario: become an exorcist on the cursed island, a treasure hunter on volcano island, or a rescue team for a castaway trapped on a rocky islet. The group's choices shape both the camp and the story that unfolds over in-game weeks, carried along by hundreds of Event, Mystery and Adventure cards that keep the exploration fresh every time. Tension builds with every roll of the dice, and cooperation quickly becomes a matter of collective survival rather than simple strategy.

You will probably love Robinson Crusoe if you get a thrill out of stories that build themselves game after game, and the idea of truly making do with almost nothing excites you more than a perfectly polished board. The game still ranks among the highest-rated cooperative games on BoardGameGeek, praised for the intensity of its emergent storytelling.
