You are ready to build your own zoo in New York! It is not nothing like site and the visitors will be announced numerous. You still have to open the first one, because others have had the same idea.

In New York Zoo , you will build your park. You have the land and already some houses. But you still have to create enclosures for your animals, bring them in but also create some attractions. Not a square meter of land must remain free!

The goal is therefore to fill, first, completely his land with the help of enclosures and attractions.

Each turn, players can either choose to build an enclosure or bring in animals. Of course, it will be forbidden to fill an enclosure with animals of different species! In addition, to build an enclosure, it must be occupied with at least one animal. We must therefore bring in new ones.

However, you can take advantage of births to have more animals without having to transport them. What a joy to see a young arctic wolf or a baby penguin born!

But a zoo must have all the necessary comfort and offer food to visitors.

As soon as you succeed in filling an enclosure, it will allow you to build a bonus attraction ranging from the super roller coaster to the hot dog shack.

Opinion of L'As des jeux (Caro)

At first I thought it was a game of resource management (animals), tile placement (pen).. cute. Simple. BUT noOoOOOoo... It's a RACE!

The first to complete their zoo wins. Just the same. Everything stops. Finished. Zoo filled = victory.

Well. Me the competition, it speaks to me.

Depending on the number of players, different game boards are distributed. Each player has a board in front of them. On my turn, I move the elephant forward on the central action board (Action Track). I move forward a number of spaces (again depending on the number of players) and complete an action:

- Add animals to my zoo

- Add enclosures to my zoo

If, while moving the elephant on the Action Track, I cross a birth line, then there... Babies everywhere! If I have at least 2 of this type of animal in one of my enclosures, there is birth! And it's like that for all the players around the table.

But why do I want to fill my enclosures so much? Ahhhh... As soon as an enclosure can no longer accommodate animals, they return to the reserve and I can choose an attraction in exchange! The attractions allow us to fill our zoo (bonus!!) and help us to fill small holes here and there.

We really enjoyed New York Zoo! It was simple to understand, simple to play and the racing aspect really speaks to us. Yes use strategy, yes plan your actions but above all, get busy filling your zoo!
