On a frozen pond ringed by snow-dusted pines and little white houses under a blanket of snow, a whole cheerful crew of Jan van Haasteren friends laces up their skates for a wild winter outing. A spotted dog darts between the skaters while a cheerful pink octopus, cozily settled in a green chair at the edge of the ice, watches the scene with wide eyes. Nearby, a red sled zips across the ice with its giggling passengers hanging onto each other, and a curious turtle pokes its nose out onto the ice. In the bare tree at the center of the scene, birds flutter around friends making sure they do not go without, while a mysterious bird soars above the whole crowd, adding its own touch of mischief to this typically cartoonish illustration, packed with little funny details to spot in every corner of the scene.

This Junior puzzle belongs to a collection designed to give young puzzle fans their first steps into the world of Jan van Haasteren, with progressive formats of 150, 240 and 360 pieces depending on the difficulty level sought. The box is made from 100% recycled cardboard, a simple gesture that reduces the puzzle's environmental footprint. As in every illustration in the series, each corner of the scene hides a small funny detail to discover, a signature that turns the hunt for clues into part of the fun.

The artwork for the Junior line is signed by Wilma van den Bosch, a well-known Dutch artist and comic writer who joined Studio Jan van Haasteren's team in 2022 to bring this collection for younger puzzlers to life. This puzzle carries the same warm, richly detailed style that made the Jan van Haasteren name famous.
