Objective: Finger motor control

Oh no! Nasty Neighbor Josh has made stink bombs again. You must quickly defuse them before they explode and stink up the whole neighborhood with the smell of trash, skunk, and dirty socks!

DÉgourdi is designed to help children ages 4 to 8 develop fine motor skills related to finger coordination. The game gradually helps them develop their dexterity, manual coordination, and ability to separate finger movements—skills that are useful for gestures and movements like pencil grip. The different levels and ways to play make it a progressive game adapted to each child's motor skills.

Why this game?

Between the ages of 4 and 8, children develop their motor skills significantly. These skills are useful, among other things, for controlling and separating finger movements when handling small objects or tracing the letters of the alphabet.

The DÉgourdi game allows children to develop their fine motor skills, specifically their dexterity, manual coordination, and the dissociation of finger movements. The precision and speed challenges associated with defusing stink bombs add a fun and stimulating aspect to the development of these skills. The different levels and ways of playing make this a progressive game adapted to each child's motor skills.

Playing dice with one hand also allows children to develop their ability to control one or more muscle groups in relation to a goal, and to become increasingly adept at making small, precise movements adapted to various situations. Little by little, the game leads them to improve their gripping ability with three fingers, then two fingers. By increasingly precise control of the small muscles in their hand, children develop greater finger mobility.
