In Viva Catrina, every tile you place grows your own festive village: you build paths to connect butterflies and visitors, raise pedestals to attract mysterious chimeras, and send colorful balloons flying to maximize your points. This family tile-laying game rewards careful planning, since one poorly placed tile can block your paths or put an objective out of reach. The race for chimeras and balloon tiles adds a light but constant tension, and the real satisfaction comes from watching your village come to life, tile after tile, right up to the last space on the board.

Released in 2025, Viva Catrina quickly found its audience and was even adapted into a digital version on the Board Game Arena platform, a nice vote of confidence for a recent family title. Viva Catrina is designed by Frederic Boulle and Gregory Grard, with colorful illustrations by Jeremie Fleury. Published by The Flying Games, the game owes much of its visual charm to artwork inspired by traditional ofrendas and Day of the Dead motifs.
