Trailblazer: The John Muir Trail invites you to lace up your boots and hike one of the most beautiful trails in the world, through the High Sierras of California. Over twelve days of trekking, you cross lush meadows, climb toward the summit of Half Dome or Mount Whitney, pause at waterfalls and alpine lakes, and cross paths with marmots, golden trout and even a rare snow plant. Every game reveals a new face of the trail thanks to a variable setup that changes the route, the weather and the encounters.

In practice, you manage a backpack that determines what you can carry, observe and accomplish each day. This resource management game has you place workers along your personal track through worker placement, collect field guide cards and cash in destination bonuses, all while adapting to changing weather that can complicate your progress. A full solo mode is built in if you would rather take on the trail alone.
