The year is 1667 and you're a pirate sailing the choppy waters of the Caribbean in Tortuga 1667. A gold-laden Spanish galleon crosses your path, and you've convinced your crewmates to team up and steal every last coin from its hold. What you haven't told them is that you have no intention of sharing the loot once it's in your hands. They all swear loyalty... but you know exactly how to spot a loaded pistol and a mutiny brewing.

In this pirate betrayal game, nobody holds a secret hand of cards: Event cards belong to the whole crew and can just as easily save your team as sink it. The real skill lies in choosing what you reveal... and what you keep quiet. Vote cards decide who wins an attack, a mutiny, or a brawl, and knowing where to place your pawn at the right moment is what separates rich pirates from the ones marooned on the rocky island of Tortuga.

Tortuga 1667 is for you if you love party games where the best strategy is reading your opponents instead of your cards. If you enjoy negotiating, bluffing, and flipping sides at the worst possible moment, never quite sure who's really pulling the strings, this game only gets better as the group grows.

In 2017, Tortuga 1667 was a finalist at the prestigious Golden Geek Awards in the Best Party Game category, alongside Spyfall 2, cementing its reputation as a modern classic of backstabbing fun among friends. The game is also volume 2 in the Dark Cities series, which explores different cities and eras through hidden loyalty mechanics.

Tortuga 1667 was designed by Travis Hancock, with artwork by Holly Hancock and Sarah Keele. Published by Facade Games, it stands out in the social deduction genre for its no-secret-hand approach, a fairly rare structure for this kind of game.
