Thunderstone Quest invites you to form a party of brave heroes, arm them with weapons, spells and magic items, then send them to face the darkness of a monster-filled dungeon. With every expedition you explore new dungeon tiles and uncover Guardian Keys; once the full set is gathered, you must face the terrifying Guardian in a final battle that puts your whole deck to the test. The game blends classic deckbuilding - every card you buy strengthens your deck for the rest of the game - with a narrative quest structure: story booklets guide your first games through ready-to-play scenarios, before opening up to randomized dungeon setups that extend replayability well beyond your first sessions.

Thunderstone Quest is for you if you love card games that play out like a campaign: you progress through quests with a real storyline, you build a deck that evolves game after game, and you want to feel the tension rise as your heroes push deeper into the dungeon. It's also an excellent pick if you're after a deckbuilder that shines at two players without sacrificing strategic depth.

Thunderstone Quest is the modern successor to the popular Thunderstone series launched in 2010: BoardGameGeek lists it as a complete reimagining of the original concept, crowdfunded since 2017 and supported since then by more than twenty expansions and campaigns. The game is also well received by the community, holding a 7.7/10 average rating from close to 5,000 ratings on BoardGameGeek, a solid score for a fantasy-themed deckbuilder. If you want to keep the adventure going, two expansions are currently available at L'As des jeux: Thunderstone Quest: Ripples in Time Exp. #5 and Thunderstone Quest: Foundations of the World Exp.

The game is designed by Mike Elliott, with Bryan Reese and Mark Wootton as co-designers; Mike Elliott also created the original Thunderstone as well as the popular deckbuilder Quarriors!, two well-known names in the genre. Artwork was handled by a large team of illustrators led notably by Jason Engle, who gives the dungeon its dark, menacing atmosphere.
