The Trial of the Forest (FR) invites you into the heart of an ancient forest where adventurous animals compete to become the new guardian of the Green Valley. On a board of winding paths that changes as the game unfolds, you explore mysterious places, meet funny creatures and write your own legend. Each turn, you choose your deeds: calmly pick berries, set out on an expedition in search of artifacts, ambush a rival, surprise them with a cup of tea, shop for gear or set the shop on fire. Every action improves your skills and earns you renown.
This light-strategy adventure game combines resource management, multi-use cards, skill progression and dice combat. Your moral choices decide whether you end up a hero or a villain, and only one adventurer will win the trial. The result: a narrative adventure where every game tells a different story.
The Trial of the Forest is for you if you like games where your decisions forge a unique story, if you enjoy resource management with a touch of interaction (and friendly backstabbing) and if the enchanted forest atmosphere appeals to you. It is a great choice for evenings with 2, 3 or 4 players.
The game is designed by Giancarlo Spinelli, with illustrations by Anna "Mikado" Przybylska, who bring the colorful wildlife of the forest to life. Released in 2026, it is a brand-new title to discover as soon as it arrives in store.
