The games in the L'As des jeux Bazar are pre-played games. They have been inspected by one of our game experts and are certified "Complete." You may find some minor imperfections, such as light wear on the box or on certain game components.
Aboard Pirate Fluxx, the rules of the game are never set in stone: they shift with every card played. You start with a hand of three cards and one simple instruction, draw a card then play a card, but that simplicity never lasts very long. A Goal or New Rule card can flip the whole game on its head in an instant, turning a simple ever-changing card game into a completely unpredictable treasure hunt on the high seas.
Wear the Captain's Hat, stack up Rubies and Gold Doubloons, get your hands on some Ships and brace yourself for a cannon blast or two. Watch out for Scurvy and Shackles, which can keep you from winning, and keep an eye open, a Surprise card can pop up at any moment to cancel a play or steal a Booty keeper mid-action. It is a fast-paced party game built on hand management and set collection, where nobody stays in control of the situation for very long.
Pirate Fluxx is for you if you love games that spiral in every direction, constant twists, and game nights where improvisation beats long-term strategy. Fluxx fans and newcomers alike will enjoy it, since each round only takes a few minutes and starts right back up as soon as it ends.
Pirate Fluxx introduced a brand-new card type to the Fluxx line: the Surprise card, played out of turn to cancel a move or steal a Booty keeper, adding a layer of tension that earlier editions did not have. Since the very first Fluxx released in the late 1990s, the line has grown into dozens of themed editions, and this pirate version remains one of the most popular among fans of the brand, with thousands of copies in circulation among collectors.
The game is designed by Andrew Looney, the creator of the Fluxx system and a major figure in American independent gaming, also known for Chrononauts. The colorful artwork is by Derek Ring, who brings the pirate world to life through its ships, treasures and larger-than-life characters.
