Twisted Paths is the most generous expansion ever built for Lost Ruins of Arnak (FR), the strategy board game that blends exploration and deck building on a mysterious island. Its centerpiece is a brand new double sided board, bigger than the one from the base game, offering two brand new research tracks, each with its own mechanisms. On the day side, climb the white stone of the Owl Temple: combine new temple tiles to create extra idol slots, and unlock a third research token, the lantern, that brings even richer rewards. On the night side, brave the dark caverns of the Spider Temple with the help of dark tablets, a brand new resource used to invoke mysterious altars and place artifacts directly onto the research track during your ascent. Beware though: pushing the dark tablets too far can cost you points! On top of these two temples, the expansion adds new guardians, sites and assistants to vary every session, plus a generous helping of solo content with new Rival tiles, purple Rival tiles and Rival Objectives, previously offered only as a print and play.

Twisted Paths is for you if you have already explored the island of Narak and want to push your collection of idols, guardians and assistants further. The two temples add a real strategic choice to every game: the caution of the Owl Temple or the calculated risk of the Spider Temple. Solo players are well served too, with a full set of new challenges against the Rivals.

Before becoming a standalone expansion, Twisted Paths was part of the Adventure Chest, a limited edition storage box with an original insert designed by Czech Games Edition. The purple Rival tiles and Rival Objectives found in it were first offered as a print and play before becoming official physical components in this expansion.

Twisted Paths carries the signature of Elwen and Mín, the duo behind the entire Lost Ruins of Arnak universe, from the base game to its various expansions. This new box continues the work of the same creative duo, with the mechanism consistency players already know.

Twisted Paths is an expansion: you absolutely need Lost Ruins of Arnak (base game) to play it, since this box only adds new components and new rules meant to combine with the base game.
