From the very first glance, this JvH XL jigsaw puzzle drops you into a library spread across several floors and completely overrun by a crowd as large as it is colorful. Up on the top mezzanine, readers climb ladders and dig through shelves loaded with books and hanging plants, while a cat slinks between the varnished wooden bookcases. Down on the main floor, the chaos is total: visitors stack towering piles of books on long work tables, a group of kids clusters near a storage unit, and a spiral staircase links the landings where more curious characters wheel around carts. Every corner of the illustration hides another small comic detail, from the quietest little scene to the full-blown pandemonium at the center of the room.
