Welcome to the snow-covered island of Hokkaido, at the northern tip of the Japanese archipelago. In this strategy card game, you take charge of a merchant family trying to settle these wild, mountainous lands. Every card you add to your personal map partially overlaps the previous one, revealing its resources one at a time: fish, grain, stone or wood. Over twelve fast-paced rounds, you'll read the terrain, plan your moves and reshape your territory with terraforming tiles, all while keeping in mind the goals that can tip the final score in your favor.

The second entry in the Nippon series, Hokkaido keeps the contemplative feel of its predecessor Honshu while adding a brand new card-drafting mechanism that forces every player to react to each other's choices and adapt on the fly. The result: a short, tense experience packed with small decisions that matter, whether you're playing with two players or five.
