Grab your ice cream scoop: in Ice Split, every card hides a tough call between banking a future objective or showing off a tempting flavour. On your turn, you slide a card to either end of your personal display, choosing whether to reveal its objective side or its flavour side. Since cards can only be added at the two ends of the row, the order of your display grows more strategic as the round goes on. After playing your card, you draw a new one, either from the shared face-up options or blindly from the deck, keeping the tension high as everyone races to lock in the best combinations before running out of room.
The game ends once every player has built a display of 13 cards. Points are then tallied from the objectives revealed along the way, using the flavours stacked in your display to satisfy specific conditions: sets, runs, rarity, or variety. Each objective only counts once, and an incomplete objective earns nothing, so timing and planning make all the difference. The player with the highest score becomes the ultimate ice cream champion of the summer.
You'll probably love Ice Split if you're all about fast card games where every decision counts twice. This party game plays in just 15 minutes, perfect for stringing together round after round with friends or family without the double-sided mechanic ever losing its bite. If you enjoy juggling long-term strategy against in-the-moment opportunism, your ice cream display is waiting for you.
Ice Split leans on an uncommon double-sided cards mechanic: each card carries both an objective and a flavour, forcing you to weigh two values in a single move. This compact card game runs in an ultra-short 15-minute format, built for family game nights that need to move fast between tables.
Ice Split is signed by the Italian collective BLOB Factory (Luca Bellini, Luca Borsa, Carlo Emanuele Lanzavecchia, and Walter Obert), also behind the party game Magicaboo. The colourful, mouth-watering illustrations are the work of Simon Douchy.
