Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park (500 pcs)

This 500-piece jigsaw puzzle takes you to the ocean's edge, facing the volcanic cliffs of Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. In the illustration, a blazing orange and pink sky looms over a brilliant blue bay. On the left, glowing lava streams drip down a dark rock wall, while on the right a purple cliff sends up lava fountains and plumes of steam. In the distance, the black coastline stretches on beneath a cloud of rosy smoke.

The scene is full of little details to spot: white long-tailed birds gliding overhead, a helicopter, a tour boat on the water, and palm trees and ferns along the shore. In the foreground, pink, red and purple tropical flowers and bright green foliage add a burst of color. The bold graphic style, with vivid flat colors and strong contrasts, gives you a lovely range of shades to sort and assemble.

You will probably enjoy this landscape jigsaw puzzle if you like colorful nature scenes, faraway travel and mid-sized puzzles you can finish in a few evenings. The big areas of sky and water offer a nice challenge, and the lava and flower details reward patience.

The box carries the National Park Foundation logo, and this puzzle is part of a collection of illustrated U.S. national park puzzles.
