Diluvium (FR) transports players into a flooded ancient world where powerful civilizations struggle to survive after a catastrophic deluge swallowed entire continents beneath the sea. As the leader of a surviving people, you must explore newly discovered archipelagos, colonize islands, gather resources, and defend your empire in order to restore your former glory.

In this engaging 4X strategy game, every turn revolves around choosing one of four main actions: explore, conquer, exploit, or engage in combat. Despite its accessible rules and relatively short playtime, Diluvium successfully captures the satisfying feeling of expansion, development, and territorial conflict found in much larger civilization games.

Exploration plays a major role thanks to the modular ocean tiles that create a different archipelago every game. Players gradually uncover new islands filled with resources, ancient ruins, and strategic opportunities. The mysterious remnants of the lost Mu Empire add a strong thematic and narrative atmosphere to the adventure.

Gathered resources help players strengthen their civilization, improve military power, and accumulate valuable gold reserves. However, space quickly becomes limited, making conflict between civilizations almost inevitable. Battles over territory and resources create constant interaction and tension throughout the game.

Diluvium stands out thanks to its ability to condense the full experience of a true 4X game into a much more fluid and approachable format. Sessions remain strategic and competitive without requiring several hours, making it an excellent introduction to the genre for newer players.
