Western Legends invites you to write your own legend in the American Wild West. In this open-world thematic game for 2 to 6 players, you take on a character inspired by real historical figures of the Old West and choose your own path freely: become an outlaw wanted across the territory, a respected lawman, a professional poker player or a gold prospector ready to do anything to strike it rich.

Unlike many adventure games guided by a fixed scenario, Western Legends gives you almost total freedom on the board. You can ride the plains on horseback, prospect at the mines, drive cattle, rob a bank, face off against bandits, sit in on a poker game or simply chase your own storyline. Each turn begins with gaining resources and poker cards, then you get three actions to further your ambitions. Duels, arrests, robberies and visits to the board's various locations combine into an emergent experience where every game tells a different story.

Western Legends is for you if you enjoy sandbox games that let you choose your own approach, richly themed Wild West settings and games where players write their own story instead of following a set path. The wide range of possible strategies suits players who love direct confrontation just as much as those who prefer to explore, trade or quietly build their fortune.

Interesting fact: Western Legends draws directly on historical figures of the American Old West such as Wild Bill Hickok, Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday and Calamity Jane, each with their own traits that shape how they score points. The game was also a finalist in the Thematic Game category at the 2018 Golden Geek Awards, losing out only to Root.

The game is designed by Herve Lemaitre and illustrated by Roland MacDonald. With its many miniatures, its built-in poker system and its huge freedom of action, Western Legends has established itself as a reference point for adventure gaming in a western setting, and a favorite base for players who love strategy games built around telling their own stories.
