Solstis (pré-joué) (ML)

The games in the L'As des jeux Bazar are pre-played games. They have been inspected by one of our game experts and are certified "Complete." You may find some minor imperfections, such as light wear on the box or on certain game components.

On the slopes of a mountain as majestic as it is mysterious, an ancient rite of passage awaits the boldest travelers. In Solstis, you capture colorful landscape tiles to trace a path climbing toward the peaks, while crossing paths with playful spirits who have watched over the mountain for generations. The capture mechanism draws from hanafuda, the traditional Japanese card game: pick a tile from a row or column, then place it in your landscape to form squares and draw spirits to your side. Each round of this tile-laying game takes barely 15 minutes, wrapped in a zen atmosphere where every choice matters, since you must avoid leaving the best tiles for your opponent while building the most harmonious landscape possible.

Solstis is for you if you enjoy short, thoughtful duels where reading your opponent matters as much as building your own landscape. It is a great pick for two players who want a calm moment between longer games, for solo practice, or to introduce an 8-year-old to strategy without unnecessary complexity.

Fun fact: Solstis's capture mechanism borrows from hanafuda, a centuries-old Japanese card game, cleverly reimagined here on mountain tiles. The game even includes a dedicated solo mode, a rare feature for this kind of two-player experience. To extend the adventure, the Solstis: Firefly expansion adds new spirits and new challenges to discover.

Solstis was designed by the duo Bruno Cathala and Corentin Lebrat. Cathala is well known among board game fans for creating Kingdomino, a landmark tile-laying title that won the prestigious Spiel des Jahres. The warm, dreamlike illustrations come from Manu Gorobei, who brings this spirit-filled mountain to life.
