Christmas Wasgij #22, Une nuit pas si douce! (1000 pcs)

Not So Silent Night! invites you into the joyfully chaotic world of a Christmas Eve gone completely sideways. On the box of this Wasgij jigsaw puzzle, Santa lands on a townhouse rooftop with a giant green sack stuffed with presents, flanked by his reindeer team and a busy elf fussing with the string lights. Meanwhile, a whole family has spilled outside into the snow: a man in a blue coat gestures wildly, another walks his dog, a snowman looks on, and everyone wears the same look of pure astonishment. In a circular inset in the top right corner, a curly-haired woman in a pink robe covers her mouth, clearly stunned by whatever she is witnessing.

That is the whole genius of the Wasgij series (read "jigsaw" backwards): unlike a traditional puzzle, the picture on the box is never the one you actually assemble. The tagline says it plainly: "Don't puzzle what you see... puzzle what the lady sees!" The main 1000-piece puzzle instead recreates the scene from that witness's own point of view, folding her into the final picture. It turns a simple puzzle session into a genuine visual mystery, packed with comic details and the colorful cast of characters this holiday series is known for.

The Wasgij series has built an international following around this unique concept: guessing the scene instead of rebuilding it. More than twenty editions in, the Wasgij Christmas line revisits a brand-new holiday mishap every year, always with the same brand of absurd humor. A nice bonus for collectors: alongside the 1000-piece mystery puzzle, the box also includes a second, free 1000-piece puzzle that faithfully reproduces the box artwork itself, letting you assemble both halves of the story.

The lively, colorful artwork is the work of Aaron Blecha, an illustrator known for his playful, cartoonish style that suits the offbeat spirit of the Wasgij series perfectly. The puzzle is produced by Jumbo.

Dimensions: approximately 68 x 49 cm once completed (for each of the two puzzles included in the box).
