Barenpark: The Bad News Bear Exp (EN)

Bear parks just got a lot wilder: Barenpark: The Bad News Bears is an expansion that shakes up the base game for every fan out there. Two independent modules, added together or on their own, turn your tile-laying puzzle into an even tougher challenge: grizzly bears move in with huge enclosures, and a monorail swoops right over your park.

The grizzly module adds hefty habitats that gobble up seven squares in one go inside a park section: good luck fitting that in! To make room, you now need to build a fifth park section on top of the usual four, each one with its own exit gate so visitors can finally make their way home. The monorail module has you planting pillars at just the right distance across your land before balancing a car on top: place it early and it's worth up to ten points, less the longer you wait. A handful of new goals also shuffle right into the base game's deck to keep every session fresh.

All three modules - grizzlies, monorail and new goals - work just as well solo as combined, so you can dial in exactly how much new content you want at the table.

You'll probably love this expansion if you already own Barenpark and want to push your puzzle-building even further, if you can't get enough of tile games where every square inch counts, or if you're simply looking for a fresh dose of variety for family or game night with friends.

This expansion, like the base game, comes from Phil Walker-Harding, also behind Imhotep and Sushi Go, with artwork once again by Klemens Franz, who also illustrated Agricola and Le Havre.

The base game Barenpark is required to play, since The Bad News Bears is not a standalone game: it plugs directly into your existing park.
