Take command of a miniature army and dive into the biggest land battles of World War Two with Airfix Battles: The Introductory Wargame. This accessible wargame puts the action on two huge double-sided A2 maps, where tanks, infantry and support units clash for control of the battlefield. Before each fight, you build your army by drawing or handpicking cards from your Force Deck, then follow the step-by-step instructions in the Mission Book to set up the table. Once the battle starts, your Command Deck gives you the cards to move your troops, launch an assault, or call in artillery support and airstrikes at just the right moment. The die-cut cardboard counters are all you need to play straight out of the box, but the game is also built to welcome real Airfix model kits if you want to take the tabletop experience even further.

Airfix Battles is for you if you have always wanted to command tanks and infantry sections without learning a heavy rules system, if you enjoy fast, tactical head-to-head duels, or if you are looking for a simple gateway into historical wargaming before jumping into hand-painted miniatures.

Much of the game's charm comes from its tie to the Airfix brand, famous for decades for its military vehicle model kits: several of the counters faithfully reproduce real models from the range, a nod that will please modelling fans and casual players alike.

Airfix Battles was designed by Chris Birch, Nick Fallon and Alan Paull, a team well known in the tactical and miniatures gaming scene for building combat systems that are quick to pick up.
