Once upon a time, there was a very tired wizard who fell asleep in his tower, surrounded by treasure he barely keeps an eye on anymore. In Adventurers Required (FR), you take charge of a guild and become its head recruiter: put together a band of sneaky adventurers who can slip into the tower and walk out with the loot. Every adventurer brings real skills to the table, but also a noise level all their own, and too much racket wakes the wizard up fast, which tends to ruin the whole heist. Each round, you hire one new team member: a card from your hand, a recruit from the shared market, or a bolder move by drawing blind from the deck. Bards, druids and other larger-than-life characters make up your dream team, and the real trick of this card game is pairing the right personalities so a loud crew still moves like a shadow. Once your team is ready, send them in and grab the biggest haul before the fifth round ends: whoever holds the most treasure wins.

Adventurers Required (FR) is for you if you love party games that play fast but still call for real strategy and a dash of luck. It is also a great pick for bigger groups: up to 8 adventurers can recruit around the table at once, making it a family favorite for game nights or get-togethers with friends who want something easy to learn but that keeps everyone glued to the next card off the deck.

Fun fact: Adventurers Required belongs to a line of eco-consciously manufactured games, with materials and production chosen to shrink the box's environmental footprint. The game also landed to a warm welcome right out of the gate, with an average rating above 7.5 out of 10 from the first players who tried it on BoardGameGeek.

Adventurers Required (FR) is credited to Bethany Linder, a designer and illustrator from Manchester who both dreamed up the game and painted its entire visual world herself, from the sleepy wizard to the colorful portraits of every adventurer. It is her very first published design, a nice nod to an artist just as comfortable with a pencil as with game mechanics.
