The principle of the game is to knock down wooden skittles using a launcher called Mölkky. Pins are scored from 1 to 12. The first team to score exactly 50 points wins the game.

At the start of a game, the skittles are placed 3.50m (+ or – 10cm) from the players. When a pin has been knocked down, it is straightened on its foot (and not at the head), the number facing the throwing area, just where it is and without lifting it off the ground . Thus during the game, the skittles scatter and move away.

The players (or teams) each play in turn. You don't play again immediately when you miss.

Count the points:

To knock down the pins, players throw the Mölkky. All throwing styles are allowed, as long as the throwing is not dangerous for the people around.

There are two ways to score points:

– if a player knocks down several pins, he earns as many points as he knocked down pins.

– if a player knocks down a single pin, he earns as many points as the number written on it.

Example :

a player aims for pin number 12 and knocks it down alone, he scores 12 points.

if he knocks down n°12 and at the same time n°4, he scores only 2 points.

It is therefore easy to understand that this game can call sometimes on force (to knock down the most pins at once) sometimes on precision and skill. The example above shows that a little clumsiness can cause you to lose a lot of points!

Please note: a pin is only considered knocked down if it has fallen entirely on the ground and is not resting on any other. If it is balanced on an element of natural terrain, tree stump, large root, tree trunk... it is not considered to have fallen. If the pin rests on an artificial element, cement curb, boundary board, etc. it is considered to have fallen to the ground. If a skittle is lying on the ground and another rests in balance on an artificial border, it is therefore necessary to count 2 skittles on the ground, that is to say 2 points.

The winning team is the first to score exactly 50 points.

The round ends.

If a team exceeds this score, it drops to 25.

Elimination: The player (if he is alone) or the team who makes three consecutive blanks (three throws during which no point is scored, or a bite on the throwing line) is eliminated. Of course, if all players are eliminated before anyone reaches 50 points, the last player standing wins.
