On the Piazza dei Signori, six well-known figures of Verona appear day after day. But two of them are not who they claim to be: Romeo and Juliet, with the help of the Nurse, hide among the crowd to escape Capulet. Verona Twist is an asymmetrical deduction game for two players in which, unusually, every move happens in plain sight.

One player takes the role of the Nurse, who guards the lovers' secret; the other becomes Capulet, determined to unmask the fugitives. Each character moves in its own way, a little like in chess, and at the end of every round Capulet gets a clue: the Nurse tells him whether Romeo and Juliet are in the same area of the square or not. The Nurse wins if the couple stays hidden until the end of the 7th round; Capulet triumphs if he cracks the mystery before time runs out.

Every game turns into a delicious tug-of-war of observation and bluff: the Nurse muddies the trail while Capulet cross-references the clues, round after round. This nervy, elegant two-player game invites replay, since the two roles deliver opposite sensations.

You will love Verona Twist if you enjoy tense head-to-head brain games, if you appreciate deduction games where information is revealed little by little, and if you are after a two-player experience that is quick yet full of twists.

The game is designed by József Dorsonczky and illustrated by Aurél Lázár, whose work charmingly brings the Verona of Romeo and Juliet to life. Will love triumph?
