At the docks of Himeji, the arrival of Portuguese merchant ships brings new opportunities for trade and fuels the ambitions of the clans. The White Castle: Boeki is an expansion that takes your games back to Himeji Castle with a focus on trade and diplomacy: only those who dominate trade and diplomacy will overcome their rivals and become master of the court.

Twenty Privilege cards are earned as you advance along the Passage of Time track. Each one grants a special bonus that alters certain requirements, such as dice rolls or the cost of certain actions. At the start of the game, during the initial card selection, each player also takes a Daimyo Gift tile: it offers an objective that scores at the end of the game if the corresponding space on the time track has been reached. The module is compatible with the base game, with or without the Matcha expansion, and plays 1 to 4 people.

You will probably enjoy Boeki if you already know The White Castle and want a strategy game that feels both familiar and fresh, with goals to plan and bonuses that change your decisions from one game to the next.

Boeki is the work of designers Isra C. and Shei S., who also created the base game.

What you need to play: the base game The White Castle (EN) is required, as this expansion cannot be played on its own.
