Welcome to Spectacular (FR), a dice and tile game that hands you a mission as noble as it is captivating: create and develop your very own animal park for vulnerable species. Turn after turn, you pick animal tiles and dice that stand for the food your residents need. Each die's color must match the color of your tiles' habitats, and every choice matters: should you grab that perfectly valued die right now, or lock down that animal tile that might vanish before it comes back around?

The heart of the fun lies in a clever spatial puzzle. You piece together zones of a single habitat, you build watchtowers whenever three tiles form a circle of the same color, and you carefully place the right die values in the right spots. At game end, each connected habitat zone scores you the sum of your dice of that color, but only if you made sure to secure breeding on the family tiles. Add the points from your watchtowers and the variety of your species, and you get a tight race where a single well-placed tile can change everything.

What makes Spectacular so smooth is its simultaneous play: everyone plays at the same time, which keeps downtime to a minimum, even with six players. Still, you keep a sharp eye on the shared board circling the table, because your opponents' decisions constantly reshape what will be offered to you. Simple rules, quick setup and short playtime make this an approachable family dice game that hides genuine strategic depth.

Looking to raise the stakes? After a few plays, add three of the eighteen mission tiles: they offer a higher scoring potential while noticeably ramping up the difficulty of the puzzle. The player boards are double-sided and asymmetric, refreshing the experience from one game to the next. A solo mode is also included, so you can practice building the most spectacular animal park even when playing on your own.

Spectacular is designed by brothers Eilif Svensson and Asmund Svensson, a creative duo known for their clever, approachable games. The warm illustrations that bring each animal to life are the work of Gjermund Bohne.
