Dive into Shugendo, a strategy game of deck building where you guide the expansion of your family's farm beyond the known edges of the forest. Each player has a personal deck of cards that you improve by replacing your weaker starting cards with powerful settler cards. Every round, you reveal cards for as long as you dare, take action to explore, expand or develop your land, then recruit new people from the unlocked eras. But be careful: reveal 7 or more yokai icons and your turn explodes, limiting you to only one of the last two phases! Your expansion may also unsettle the spirits that still dwell in the wilderness, and their mischief can hinder your plans. Grow your influence, adapt your strategy and attract the right people to your settlement to earn victory points.

Shugendo is for you if you love card games where you build your own deck, if you enjoy the thrill of pushing your luck a little further than planned, and if the atmosphere of a fantasy Japan, with its farms, villages and mischievous spirits, appeals to you. It plays 2 to 4 players and is aimed at players aged 14 and up who enjoy an intermediate level of strategy.

Shugendo takes place in the Kemushi Saga, a fantasy universe inspired by Japan. It is designed by Simone Luciani and Alessandro Cuneo, with illustrations by Jorge Monlongo.
