A battlefield that fits in your pocket! With Pocket Battles: Celts vs. Romans, this two-player war game delivers the epic clash between Celtic warriors and Roman legions, with no giant table and no endless setup. Each tile represents a type of troop: some fight only in melee, others shoot from a distance, and several have special traits that affect their whole unit, or even your whole army.

Before the game, you decide together how many points your armies are worth, then each of you builds an army from the pool of troops. Combat takes place across three sectors, laid out in three columns and two rows. On your turn, you give orders to your units using order tokens, but be careful: activating the same unit again in the same battle round costs more and more! Between rounds, you may redeploy your troops without spending any tokens. The battle is won as soon as one side eliminates at least half the value of the opposing army. This pocket wargame plays in about 30 minutes.

Pocket Battles: Celts vs. Romans is for you if you enjoy two-player strategy games, battles of the ancient world and quick games where every order counts. It is also a great pick for anyone who wants to get into wargaming with accessible rules and a game that is easy to carry around.

Fun fact: this game is the first in the Pocket Battles series and in the Ancients line. Each box in the series features two armies from the same era or universe, and it was a nominee for the 2010 JoTa award for best two-player board game.
