In Paon (FR), players are transported to a vibrant archipelago where migratory birds rule the skies. Across three changing seasons, players develop their islands, attract colourful bird species, and collect valuable feathers in pursuit of victory.

Each game unfolds over three seasonal rounds. Players begin by drafting Bird and Island cards, carefully selecting the tools they need to execute their strategy. During the migration phase, islands generate resources such as plants, fish, and meat, which are required to attract and support different bird species. Efficient planning is essential to create habitats capable of welcoming the most valuable birds.

One of the game's most distinctive features is the seasonal rotation of Island cards. At the end of every round, islands rotate, altering available resources and changing habitat viability. Players must continuously adapt their plans and anticipate future conditions to remain competitive.

Points are earned through bird values, complete flocks, species affinities, and resource-related bonuses. The variety of scoring opportunities creates meaningful choices and strong replayability while maintaining an accessible and fast-paced experience.
