Oceans : Legends of the Deep (pré-joué) (EN)

Oceans: Legends of the Deep pulls your underwater ecosystem into a whole new current: myths and legends from around the world. This expansion for Oceans adds creatures drawn straight from mythology and folklore, from the Filipino sea serpent Bakunawa to the African water deity Olokun, alongside a handful of purely fantastical creatures, like flying whales. Each Legend card acts like a super-trait, able to transform every species you control in one move, or even shake up the entire ecosystem in play.

At the start of the game, each player is dealt four Legend cards, keeps one, and passes the rest along: a draft that forces you to weigh power against scarcity before the game even begins. From there, in addition to your usual move, you can play a Legend card on your turn, or trade one in for a new one by paying the difference in population cost. The result: a second layer of strategy that destabilizes the ecological balance from the very first turns, for an Oceans experience that is even more unpredictable.

Legends of the Deep is for you if you already know your way around Oceans and love cards that completely change how you play. Fans of replayability and explosive combos will be well served: between legendary beasts and pure fantasy creatures, every game opens up new strategic paths.

Of the 24 Legend cards in this expansion, 17 are inspired by real-world myths and water deities from cultures around the globe, such as Ahuizotl, Iku-Turso, and Olokun, while the other 7 feature entirely fantastical creatures, like flying whales. Everything is illustrated by international artists, continuing the visual style that made the Evolution line famous.

Legends of the Deep is designed by Dominic Crapuchettes, the mind behind the entire Evolution line (including Oceans) and the popular betting game Wits & Wagers, working alongside Ben Goldman. The art is by Guillaume Ducos and Tomasz Jedruszek.

To enjoy this expansion, you need to own the base Oceans game; Legends of the Deep cannot be played on its own and adds right into the Surface and Deep cards you already have in hand.
