The ZAROFF has crash-landed on Artemia, a planet erased from every official chart. The survivors explore this strange world while waiting for rescue, but something is watching them from the jungle: something ancient, something territorial. You are not alone. Not Alone (FR) is an asymmetric bluffing game that pits one player, the Creature, against everyone else, the Hunted. Each turn, the Hunted secretly choose a Place card to explore Artemia: they can talk freely, but each one decides alone when placing their card face down. The Creature, meanwhile, places up to three Hunt tokens on the locations it suspects, using its Hunt cards to spread panic. When everything is revealed, Hunted players hiding on a safe location trigger its power, while the others lose Will counters or suffer the Creature's effects. Managing your hand quickly becomes crucial: played cards pile up in a discard everyone can see, making your next choices easier to predict. Resisting costs Will counters, but giving up lets you recover everything at the cost of pushing the whole team closer to the Creature's victory. The race plays out on two counters: the Rescue counter, which advances every round, and the Assimilation counter, which moves forward every time the Creature catches a victim.

To mark Not Alone's 10th anniversary, this Remastered Edition is far more than a new coat of paint. The base game gets new illustrations, more immersive standees and a reworked power for the Artifact card, along with character cards that double as player aids and give each Hunted a small unique edge against the Creature. The big addition, though, is the Frozen Lands mode: head into Artemia's frozen wastes, ten brand-new locations where cooperation among the Hunted becomes a matter of survival. A contamination mechanic is added as well: if a contaminated player boards the rescue ship, the whole team loses. Built for groups of 4 to 7 players, this variant turns the box into two games in one, offering an experience that is tougher and more cooperative than the original. The Not Alone Exploration expansion and the Not Alone Sanctuary expansion both remain compatible with this new edition, for anyone who wants to push the adventure even further.

You will probably love Not Alone if you thrive at party game nights where reading the room matters as much as your own cards. Whether you enjoy hunting as the Creature or prefer the tension of hiding while relying on bluffing and deduction, the game reinvents itself every session thanks to the unpredictable choices around the table. With play scaling up to seven players and its tougher Frozen Lands mode, Not Alone works just as well for groups discovering the genre as for regulars looking for a bigger challenge.

When it launched in 2016, Not Alone was one of the big breakout hits of the Essen fair, the largest board game trade fair in Europe, before winning over more than 12,000 players on BoardGameGeek with an average rating close to 7 out of 10. This 10th anniversary Remastered Edition from 2026 marks a major milestone for the game, offering in a single box both the polished original experience and a brand-new mode with Frozen Lands.

Not Alone is designed by Ghislain Masson, who created this asymmetric showdown from its very first edition and oversaw its redesign for this tenth anniversary, with new illustrations by Baptiste Perez.
