Dive into the world of the Vikings with Micro Midgard, a head-to-head board game that sends you racing across the nine realms of Norse mythology. Ragnarok is coming: the giant wolves Skoll and Hati are closing in on the Sun and the Moon across the sky, and only the sharpest champion can fulfill the Norns' prophecies before it all comes crashing down.

Each turn, you move one of the shared meeples to an adjacent space, then drop your player marker there to lock that action away from your opponent until your next turn: a clever worker placement twist where every choice denies your rival an option. Sun and Moon actions push the wolves along their track, while the other spaces unlock blessings that let you gather gold and mead, climb power tracks, or claim powerful relics. Once a wolf reaches the end of its track, Ragnarok strikes: a prophecy is scored, a realm is destroyed, and the game tightens turn after turn until a champion reaches 9 glory points.

You'll probably love Micro Midgard if you're into tight, tense Viking duels, if you enjoy compact Norse mythology games that fit in a backpack, and if you're after a worker placement experience that's quick to learn but loaded with tension for two players. The game comes from designer Ben Downton, already known for his hit micro-game Micro Dojo, whose signature shared-meeple mechanism Micro Midgard expands on. The solo mode was co-designed with Shem Phillips, familiar to Viking game fans for his Champions of Midgard and Raiders of the North Sea series, who lends his talents here to bring a cunning, unpredictable Loki to life. The artwork is by David Grigoryan.
