Two explorers set out for the most mysterious corners of the globe: the towering peaks of the Himalayas, the dense jungles of Central America, the Egyptian desert, a forgotten volcano and the depths of the ocean. In Lost Cities, every card you play traces the path of an expedition and pushes your score higher. The boldest explorers go all in, wagering on the success of their route before they even know how it will end, a risky move that can double, triple or even quadruple their earnings, or sink them completely. The rules take minutes to learn, but every turn demands a sharp read: bail too early and you lose ground, push too far and you risk shipwreck. After three rounds of expeditions, the explorer with the highest combined score wins.

Lost Cities is for you if you are looking for a sharp, tense two-player card game, perfect for date night, friends or family. Its simple rules hide real strategic depth: managing your hand, reading your opponent's intentions and knowing exactly when to go big. Games wrap up in about thirty minutes, making it a go-to pick for a spontaneous game night with zero setup hassle.

Since its release, Lost Cities has sold more than 260,000 copies and earned the Parents' Choice Gold Award in 2019. This edition adds an optional sixth expedition thanks to a double-sided board: one side for the classic five-territory game, the other for a tougher six-territory variant.

The game is designed by Reiner Knizia, a designer known for elegant mechanics and hard-hitting decisions, also behind titles like Ra, Tigris and Euphrates and Ingenious. He actually reused the core system of Lost Cities to create Keltis, which went on to win the prestigious Spiel des Jahres (Game of the Year in Germany) in 2008.
