Get ready to dive into two completely unhinged scenes signed by Jan van Haasteren, in this 2-in-1 jigsaw puzzle that brings together two 1000-piece images. The first one drops you into an African savannah where a safari has gone completely off the rails: monkeys have taken over an off-road vehicle, an elephant juggles what looks like a beach ball, while zebras, giraffes, rhinos, a hippo and a crocodile weave between tourists who look a lot less relaxed than the animals. An animal race is even won by a snail, and rumour has it a Santa Claus disguised in zebra stripes is hiding somewhere in the chaos.

The second image throws you into a residential street battered by a monster storm: umbrellas turned inside out, roof tiles ripped away, bicycles knocked over and a car stuck in the branches of a tree make up a scene as chaotic as it is hilarious. This wild scene is inspired by a real event, storm Kyrill, which hit the Netherlands in January 2007 and which the artist watched from his office window before sketching it with his trademark humour.

A nice bonus comes with this box: a double-sided poster featuring both illustrations is included, handy for spotting the hidden details before you get started. As in almost every one of his works, Jan van Haasteren has tucked in his recurring signature winks, including his famous shark fin, a scavenger hunt that puzzle fans have come to love.
