*French version
Slip into the fur of a curious kitten and set off to conquer the alleys, gardens and rooftops of the city of Kyoto. Kyoto no Neko (FR) is a family adventure game in which two to four players explore a modern-day Kyoto through independent, replayable scenarios. Every game tells a new feline escapade, full of encounters, challenges and playful mischief.
At the heart of the game, a skill system lets your kitten grow turn after turn. You carry out a variety of missions, from befriending a schoolboy to facing off against an overly territorial stray cat, not to mention swiping food from the other players' bowls. As you develop your abilities, you climb onto bushes and rooftops to uncover new corners of the map.
Part of the charm comes from the components: some elements appear as cardboard tiles, while others stand up as lovely standees that bring the city to life. Kyoto no Neko marks its publisher's return to the animal and Asian-themed world, in the tradition of the beloved Takenoko.
Dreamed up by author Cedric Millet and illustrated by Jeremie Fleury, this gentle-looking board game appeals to families and players looking for an accessible, immersive experience alike.
You will probably love Kyoto no Neko if you adore cats, Japanese settings and adventure games that reinvent themselves with every scenario. It is a perfect pick for a game night with family or friends.
