Welcome to the top of a mountain resort where the Winter Games are in full swing, in cheerful chaos from start to finish! On this jam-packed illustration from this 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle, a wooden chalet nestled between snowy slopes serves as headquarters while a red cable car crosses the sky, colorful laundry hanging straight off its wire. Further along, a ski jump ramp turns into an orange tube that loops back on itself before plunging toward the skating rink, where a hockey match is spiraling into chaos under the eye of a photographer perched at the edge of the ice. All around, curlers aim their stones, skaters circle the rink, and a crowd of bundled-up spectators fills the stands, while a sausage stand and a scoreboard round out the scene. Skiers, sledders and snowy peaks complete this thoroughly deranged winter olympiad.

This comic jigsaw puzzle belongs to the famous Jan van Haasteren collection, known for decades for its jam-packed scenes full of hidden sight gags in every corner. The box even includes a poster of the full image, handy for keeping track while you piece it together.

The scene is signed by Marco Eisinga, an illustrator who joined this cult collection to draw equally busy scenes, staying true to the tradition set by the series' founder.
