The idea is simple to grasp but calls for a bit of logic: you have to turn the gears in the right order to unlock the four-digit combination lock before sliding a 10 x 15 cm photo, in portrait or landscape orientation, behind the wooden glass. The new owner picks their own secret combination, whether it is a birthday or any other number that means something to them, and can change it anytime. Count on 15 to 20 minutes to crack the mechanism's mystery the first time; once the frame is open, it closes back up and resets easily, which makes it easy to share the puzzle with other people or slip in a new memory every time you want to give a truly original gift.
