In Formaggio board game, you play an Italian cheesemaker in the early 1900s, determined to build the most prestigious creamery in the country. Blending tradition and innovation, you make, age and sell artisanal cheeses to earn prestige and outdo your rivals.

This strategy game is built on an original simultaneous worker placement system. Each player places workers in the section of the board facing them, then the board rotates, aging the cheese and giving everyone a new quadrant. The pace is smooth and interactive, and planning is essential.

Each quadrant offers its own little puzzle: pair your cheeses with wines at the Vigneto, sell them to restaurants along the Venetian canals, distribute them across the regions of Italy or deposit them in the Banca. In this management game, every choice feeds your production engine and your prestige points. It plays 1 to 4 players, solo or with a group.

You will enjoy Formaggio if you like strategy games with depth, optimization and an original mechanism that reinvents worker placement. It offers multiple paths to victory and meaningful decisions every turn.

Interesting fact: the game is inspired by a very real situation, as there is a bank in Italy that accepts cheese as collateral for loans. This idea is built into the game with the Banca. Formaggio is also a standalone expansion to Fromage: the two boxes can be combined for more variety.

The game is designed by Ben Rosset and illustrated by Pavel Zhovba, whose detailed style brings out the delicious world of Italy.
