In the enchanted forest of Fantasy, a colorful little folk - dryads, gnomes, elves, imps and leprechauns - battle it out with spells and tricks to become the next ruler. With Fantasy II (FR), this cheerful chaos takes a much darker turn: axe-wielding humans start clearing the magic woods, and they are not alone. Grumpy ogres and hungry werewolves show up too, ready to upset the fragile balance of this fairy-tale kingdom.

This expansion adds three brand-new factions to the Fantasy card game: Humans, Ogres and Werewolves, each armed with nasty powers to mess with your opponents' hands. It also introduces Beer cards, perfect for winning over these unruly newcomers, and Secret cards, which spice up every turn with an extra dose of tactics and mystery. The rules stay just as simple as in the base game: draw a card, play it, trigger its effect, and gather the most creatures in front of you to be crowned ruler of the thick, secretive woods. The result: games that are just as quick, but noticeably more cutthroat and full of twists.

Fantasy II is for you if you have already enjoyed the wild games of Fantasy and are ready to spice things up with sneakier factions. If you love a light party game you can pull out and finish in minutes, or you are a parent looking for a mischievous family classic to play again and again, this expansion refreshes the base game without adding any extra complexity.

Fun detail: the box also carries the subtitle Elixirs and Secrets, a direct nod to the new Beer and Secret cards that shake up the game. To this day, Fantasy II remains the only expansion ever published for Fantasy, making it a must-have for anyone who already owns the base game.

This sequel comes from designer Sylvie Barc, who returns with the same clever mechanics found in the base game Fantasy. The new cards are illustrated by Franck Dion, Stephane Poinsot and Maud Chalmel, who beautifully extend the colorful, slightly wacky universe of the enchanted forest.
