Endeavor puts you in command of a rising empire at the dawn of the age of exploration. Sailing out from the ports of Europe and the Mediterranean, you will send ships toward the Americas, the Caribbean, Africa, India, and the Far East to establish trade routes, found outposts, and seize territorial control over the world's most strategic cities. Each round, you construct a new building that strengthens your economic engine, drawing in turn on your empire's industry, culture, finance, or politics. The stronger your industry, the mightier the buildings you can erect; the richer your culture, the more population you welcome; the healthier your finances, the more workers you can keep active; and the greater your political influence, the more valuable cards you can draw. Over just seven rounds, every decision matters: shipping to open new regions, occupying coveted cities, attacking rival holdings, or linking your cities together will all help you rack up glory and prestige. With its world-spanning board and sturdy wooden pieces, this strategy game of maritime exploration immerses players in a tactile, engrossing experience where every empire writes its own colonial history.

A hit right from its 2009 release, Endeavor spawned an entire family of games: Endeavor: Age of Sail in 2018, followed by Endeavor: Deep Sea in 2024, a game that went on to win the prestigious 2025 Kennerspiel des Jahres, Germany's award for the year's best expert-level game. The original box leans on sturdy components, including 150 wooden population markers and 45 building tiles spread across five levels of power, for a game feel that is as satisfying to handle as it is to master.

Endeavor was designed by New Zealand game designers Carl de Visser and Jarratt Gray, who would later create the sequel Endeavor: Age of Sail and the acclaimed Endeavor: Deep Sea. The illustrations and graphic design carry the signature of Josh Cappel, whose distinctive style still dresses up reprints of the series today. The game was published by Z-Man Games.
