Eames Collector's Edition: Design Classics (1000 pcs)

The Eames Design Classics puzzle is a 1000-piece tribute that drops you straight into the creative world of two towering figures of 20th-century design. Set against a mustard-yellow floral wallpaper backdrop, the Lounge Chair and ottoman in walnut veneer and black leather anchor the composition, surrounded by a genuine collage of signature pieces: a vintage "Herman Miller Furniture Company" plaque, numbered technical sketches labeled Fig. 1 through Fig. 4 tracing the evolution of the molded plywood chair, an old-school color palette swatch, and an orange wire-base side chair cushioned with a dot-pattern pillow. Two playful characters, faces hidden behind a photo or a book, add the mischievous sense of humor typical of this collector series. To the right, a monstera plant sits atop a wood stand carved in the shape of the Eames Elephant, while Eames House Bird sculptures and a round walnut stool round out the scene, under a red banner bearing the signatures of Charles and Ray Eames.

This puzzle belongs to a series of Collector's Edition puzzles devoted to the Eames duo's body of work, produced in official collaboration with Eames Office, the organization that now safeguards their legacy. The Lounge Chair and ottoman, born in 1956, drew inspiration from the comfortable 19th-century English club chair: Charles Eames wanted it to have "the warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman's mitt," a telling detail about the duo's obsession with comfort. Nearly 70 years later, Herman Miller and Vitra still manufacture this now-iconic furniture, proof that Eames design ages without a wrinkle.
