Double Action is a game of strategy and chance that turns a simple card game into a placement duel on a big 10 x 10 board. Every square shows a playing card: on your turn, you play a card from your hand, place a chip on the matching square, then draw a new card.
The goal is to build a row of five chips, horizontally, vertically or diagonally. Each completed row scores a point, and all the chips in the row but one are flipped to their inactive side: they can no longer be used to build a new row. The game ends when a player or a team reaches two or three points, as decided beforehand.
Double Action is for you if you enjoy classic board games where you must block your opponent and seize the right opportunity at the same time. You will probably enjoy this game in teams as much as in a duel, since the box promotes games for 2, 4, 6 or 8 players.
Mechanically, the game relies on pattern building and team play, which makes it a great entry point for families and groups of friends looking for an easy-to-explain chip placement game.
