Journey into the Forgotten Realms with Adventures in Faerun (FR), a massive sourcebook built to fuel your Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition campaigns. This guide for the Dungeon Master opens the door to five settings with wildly different moods: from the frozen survival horror of Icewind Dale to the fast-paced urban fantasy of Baldur's Gate, by way of the Dalelands, Calimshan and the Moonshae Isles. Every setting ships with its own Gazetteer, so you can drop your players into a distinct corner of Faerun without inventing everything from scratch.

The book opens with an introductory adventure, "The Lost Library of Lethchauntos," built for level 1 to 3 characters and adaptable to any of the five settings. From there you get more than 50 ready to play adventures spanning levels 1 through 15, each designed to fit into a single session: perfect for a Dungeon Master short on prep time, or for building a long campaign one encounter at a time.

The sourcebook also adds 37 new monsters and villains to throw at your party, 12 new magic items to uncover, and a Bastion system unique to each setting, letting your players build a stronghold that fits the region they are exploring. The whole thing is backed by 51 illustrated maps to help you picture every location.

This sourcebook is marketed as the most expansive take on the Forgotten Realms in Dungeons and Dragons history: five settings, more than 50 adventures and a full introductory adventure in a single volume. Its North American release also shipped with an alternate-cover edition prized by collectors. Its companion volume, Heroes of Faerun, rounds out the experience on the player side with new character options for these same settings.

The content was put together by a team of a dozen designers at Wizards of the Coast, including Ron Lundeen, Chris Sims, Ben Petrisor, and Patrick Renie.

To use this sourcebook at your table, you will need the core Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition rules, namely the Player's Handbook 2024 (FR) and a Dungeon Master's Guide.
