*French version

Diamant (FR) takes you on an expedition into the cave of Tacora, famed for its precious stones, but also for its deadly traps. Each turn, an Expedition card reveals a new passage: rubies to be shared among the explorers still inside, or a hazard lurking nearby. Scorpions, snakes, poison gas, rockfalls and explosions wait in the glow of your torches. All players decide at the same time, using their Decision cards, whether to push deeper or head back to camp and stash their loot safely in their chest.

That is where the tension comes from: if the same hazard shows up twice during an expedition, everyone still in the cave flees and leaves behind what they gathered that round. And the more explorers who leave the cave, the bigger the share for those who stay. A game is made of five expeditions, and whoever has the most precious stones in their chest at the end is crowned the best explorer of Tacora.

Diamant is for you if you enjoy fast games that crank up the tension in seconds. This push-your-luck game plays in about 30 minutes, making it a great way to start or end a game night with friends or a family session. The rules are explained in a few minutes, and all you need is a bit of risk taking, good instincts and steady nerves, with 3 to 8 players around the table.

This party game has collected plenty of honors over the years: it is on the Spiel des Jahres 2005 recommended list, won the Japan Boardgame Prize for best foreign game for beginners in 2005, the Golden Geek for best light/party game in 2006, the Swedish Arets Spel award for best family game in 2018 and the Geek Media Award for party game of the year in 2023. In English, it is also known as Incan Gold. A Mise en garde et Trahison micro expansion is also available to spice up your expeditions.

Diamant was designed by Alan R. Moon, the author of Ticket to Ride, and Bruno Faidutti, who created Citadels and Mission: Red Planet. The artwork is by Paul Mafayon.
