Anselme is the smallest student at the Academy of Dark Arts. For his first ritual, he summoned a Great God of Darkness. It came. It’s four centimetres tall. The pocket edition. It lives in Anselme’s pencil case, between the eraser and the pencil sharpener.

The Great God of Darkness is a very bad god. It demands sacrifices and prayers. Its miracles, however, are tiny. It can make a glass of milk go sour. It can hide a single sock. Once, it unleashed an apocalypse. A single raindrop fell, on Anselme’s nose.

(The Dungeon Master, from behind the screen: The Great God of Darkness demands a sacrifice. Roll Religion. It accepts an eraser. It asks whether it’s strawberry-scented.)

At the end of the year came the Dark Theology exam. Each student had to present their god and a miracle. The proctor was the Academy’s imp, the little exam devil, the one who now plays dice with Morgane on Thursdays. The other students presented three-storey-tall gods. Lightning. Choirs of the damned. Anselme opened his pencil case.

The little god took a deep breath and unleashed its greatest miracle: it made the table shake. A little. A pencil rolled. The imp burst out laughing. The whole class laughed. The Great God of Darkness started to cry. And Anselme stood up: “Maybe he’s a bad god. But he helps me find my erasers. And he’s never let me down.”

The imp stopped laughing. He wrote the grade on the exam paper: “Bad god: 2 out of 10. Good friend: 10 out of 10. Pass.” The little god had cried seven tears, purple and pink like the sky of darkness, and in each one floated a little teary eye still looking at Anselme. Anselme kept them. Of course.

(The Dungeon Master, with a smirk: The imp kept the exam paper. He showed it to Morgane during their Thursday game. She laughed so hard that she botched her spell. Again.)

The Un mauvais dieu dice (“a bad god”) were born. Purple, pink and blue like a pocket-sized sky of darkness, with a little eye in each die, they’re perfect for warlocks, beginner cultists and players whose god never answers at the right moment.

With their purple, pink and blue resin and an eye inside each die, these polyhedral dice are perfect for your Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder or any roleplaying game (RPG). A dice set blessed by a very small god.
