Axel Riff, the Electric Bard, took his “Donjons & Décibels” tour all over the kingdom. His lute played so loud that it exploded at the last concert. Since then, Axel has been looking for a new instrument. The problem is that nothing is loud enough for him. Harps faint. Flutes quit. One set of bagpipes asked a shepherd for asylum.

One day, while crossing the Bois-Joli, Axel met a satyr. Half man, half goat, a pan flute on his belt and the curliest fleece in the kingdom. Every time he moved, his fleece crackled and threw little blue and purple sparks. The satyr was charged with static electricity. He couldn’t touch anyone without giving them a shock. He lived all alone.

(The Dungeon Master, from behind the screen: a satyr gets curlier by rubbing against trees. The curlier he gets, the more charged he becomes. This one hadn’t met a comb in forty years. He could light a lantern by sneezing.)

Axel had an idea. He built a new lute and tied the strings to the satyr’s horns. The satyr rubbed himself against an oak. The lute screamed. A real thunderclap, with blue lightning running along the strings. Birds fell off the branches. Axel wept with joy. He had finally found an instrument worthy of him: a satyr full of static.

Their first concert took place at the Thirsty Dwarf tavern. The satyr danced, his fleece charged up, and every chord sent a jolt through the room. On the first chorus, all the candles lit themselves. On the second, the mugs started to vibrate. On the third, every customer’s hair stood straight up. The dwarves said it was the best show of their lives. Their beards were standing up too.

At the end of the concert, the satyr, very moved, did something he had never done before: he hugged someone. Axel. The shock was so strong it was seen three villages away. When the smoke cleared, Axel was still standing, smiling, his hair as curly as a sheep’s fleece.

(The Dungeon Master, writing it down in their notebook: they’ve played together ever since. Their band is called Les Frisés, “the Curly Ones.” The audience has to take off their jewellery before coming in. The satyr finally has friends. They wear rubber gloves.)

After the show, the tavern keeper found seven little shards of lightning frozen on the stage, translucent, blue at the top and purple at the bottom, full of glitter that still crackles. The Statique de satyre dice (“satyr static”) were born. They’re perfect for bards, forest creatures and players who electrify the table.

In translucent blue and purple glitter acrylic with gold numbers, these polyhedral dice are perfect for your Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder or any roleplaying game (RPG). An electrifying dice set. Take off your jewellery.
