L'oeil de Smaug Dice - 7D Set

Smaug was a very old she-dragon who lived at the top of Pic-Ronchon, lying on a mountain of gold. Her eyesight was legendary. She could spot a knight two miles away. A thief hiding behind a rock in the valley. An eagle flying a little crooked.

The problem was, with age, Smaug had become far-sighted. She could see perfectly at a distance. But up close, nothing. And with her little dragon arms, there was no way to hold a coin far enough away to read it.

(The Dungeon Master, without looking up from the screen: You steal a gold coin right under the dragon’s nose. Roll Stealth. No need. She’s watching a sheep at the other end of the valley.)

The thieves had figured it out. They walked right under her chin, filled their bags and left whistling. Meanwhile, Smaug was shouting “WHO GOES THERE?” at a bush a mile away.

One day, Bryagh, the dragon of Mount Grondeur who has nine eyes (two in his head and seven hidden in his cave), came to visit. He understood the problem right away. “You need glasses.” Smaug was insulted. Dragons do not wear glasses. “Then I’ll lend you an eye.”

She tried on one of Bryagh’s spare eyes. It was too strong. She saw everything. The dust on every coin. The thieves’ fleas. Her own wrinkles. She screamed, and Pic-Ronchon lost a chunk. So Bryagh gave her a gift: seven brown resin dice, each with a red and gold dragon eye inside, just like his own. Held in front of her eyes, they magnified things just enough. Dragon glasses. But shaped like dice, for dignity.

(The Dungeon Master, trying not to laugh: The thieves still come. Now she can see them. She invites them for tea and shows them her collection, coin by coin, for six hours. The thieves don’t come back.)

The L’oeil de Smaug dice (“Smaug’s eye”) were born. Brown as a dragon’s cave, with a red and gold eye watching you from every die, they’re perfect for dragons, treasure guardians and players who see everything… except what’s happening right in front of them.

With their brown resin and a dragon eye inside each die, these polyhedral dice are perfect for your Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder or any roleplaying game (RPG). A dice set that keeps an eye on your treasure.
