A new moon rises over the Commonwood! In Defenders of the Wild: Critter Moon, the machine occupation tightens its grip, but critters from far and wide join the Defenders to strike a blow that could change the course of the war. Join the Critter Moon Rebellion!

This cooperative expansion adds 8 new Critter Moon organizers, two per faction, each with its own play style and personality. Each one comes with 6 new defender cards to refresh your area control and hand management strategies. Four critter tokens also give each faction a unique and helpful ability. It plays solo or with up to 4 players.

Critter Moon is for you if you already know the base game and want to vary your games with new ways to play each animal faction, in a fantasy world where nature resists the machines.

This expansion was released in 2026 following a Kickstarter campaign. It offers 8 printed wooden organizers, which brings plenty of variety from one game to the next.

It was designed by Henry Audubon and T.L. Simons, with illustrations by Meg Lemieur and T.L. Simons.

This expansion is not a standalone game: you need the base game Defenders of the Wild (2nd Edition). To use it with the 1st Edition, you also need the 1st Edition Upgrade Kit.
